An endless flight. Nowhere to be.
How do I play?
- Touch anywhere on the title to begin. It is already flying.
- Touch and drag to glide: sideways to turn, up and down to climb and dive. Let go, and the glider flies itself along the current of lanterns.
- Glide through a lantern and it chimes. A seed of light falls ahead and the land wakes where it lands: colour, grass, flowers, then life.
- Tap to sing. A ring of light goes out, and nearby lanterns answer and drift toward you.
- Touch and hold still for a moment, and a gear appears in the top-right corner. Tap it for settings: sound, breath guide, haptics and detail. With a mouse, rest the pointer near that corner. On a keyboard: arrows or WASD to glide, Space to sing.
When a realm is whole, a column of light rises on the horizon. Fly into it: you spiral up the light, watch the whole land colour in below, and pass through into the next sleeping realm. There is no score, no timer and no end.
My paper fell. What happened?
Nothing is wrong, and nothing is lost. If you drift a long while without gathering any light, the wind rises, the world dulls and darkens, and the paper falls softly and rests on the land. Brushing against old stone brings it down the same way. When you are ready, swipe up (on a keyboard, press up or W). A lantern kindles ahead; glide through it and the light floods back along the way. A fall takes nothing away.
I can't hear anything.
- iPhone and iPad app: like most games, it follows Silent mode (the Ring/Silent switch, or the Action button on newer iPhones). Turn Silent mode off and turn up the volume. It plays alongside your own music rather than stopping it.
- Sound begins with your first touch; that is how iOS and browsers work.
- Check that sound is on in the settings (touch and hold).
- The web version, in Safari on iPhone, plays through the silent switch once sound is on.
The music is made as you fly, and it is at its best with headphones.
How can I make it smoother?
- The detail setting (auto, low, mid, high) is in the settings. Auto adjusts itself to keep the flight steady; choose low on older devices.
- Low Power Mode limits the frame rate. Turn it off for the smoothest flight.
- A device that has grown warm slows itself down. Let it cool for a while.
- The app needs iOS 16.4 or later. In a browser it needs WebGL 2: Safari 16.4, Chrome 94, Firefox 93 or newer.
What is the breath guide?
An optional, gentle rhythm of about six breaths a minute. When it is on, the light and the music swell as you breathe in and settle as you breathe out. Turn it on or off in the settings.
Haptics
On iPhone, a soft tap marks each waking lantern and the moment of the rise. It follows the phone's System Haptics setting, and you can turn it off in the game's settings. iPads have no Taptic Engine, so the setting doesn't appear there.
Does it save my place?
It remembers your settings, not your place. When the game starts afresh, a new flight begins over the first sleeping realm, and the realms go on from there, around and around.
